About
Mama Mycelia is a pioneering ecosystem dedicated to psychedelic regeneration, healing and integration, offering trauma-informed, multidisciplinary care. Working with clients navigating depression, anxiety, addiction, unmetabolised grief and C-PTSD, Mama Mycelia has refined an adaptable approach that blends western clinical insights with alternative and indigenous wisdoms.
Our offerings are tailored to each client’s unique needs, drawing on a diverse network of practitioners in psychotherapy, somatics, plant medicine facilitation, nervous system regulation, supported by whole-systems design thinking. We facilitate safe, guided journeys using gentle, calibrated approaches that invite deep harmonisation and embodied integration.
With growing links to the formal mental health and psychedelic research sectors, Mama Mycelia is committed to bridging diverse fields and creating greater access to holistic psychedelic care. We support individuals, families, and communities through preparation and integration practices that include breathwork, process art, movement, microdosing, medicine walks, and relational repair work. At the heart of our mission is the creation of safe, compassionate, and sacred spaces where the deep surrender required for healing can be met with skillful holding and soul-rooted care.
Mama Mycelia is co-founded by Megan Hardy and Kate Ferguson with their multi-dimensional toolkits. Megan is a qualified archetypal depth therapist and sound healer with a background in teaching, facilitation, project management and digital learning. Kate is a peacebuilder and facilitator-mediator with a background in socio-cultural anthropology, restorative justice, transdisciplinary research and multi-stakeholder facilitation. They are both: transformation guides, devoted to client’s deep, healing transformation; medicine women, walking in humble relationship with the medicines they hold and embody; and social entrepreneurs working for positive social impact in the field of mental health in South Africa and beyond.

Kate Ferguson
Kate has foundations as a socio-cultural anthropologist working in the field of alternative dispute resolution and restorative justice. She has worked in multiple indigenous knowledge, practice and sustainability projects to build peace and repair narratives with a multi-stakeholder approach, and has carried out research into the interwoven nature of communities' health, peace and earth-based ritual.
She now works as a facilitator-mediator who channels her deep love and understanding of humanity into the work of regenerative leadership, inclusive innovation and psychedelic healing and wholeness. At the heart of every project she's part of is a lifelong inquiry: Where do we come from? Where are we now? Where are we going? This living question guides her practice, grounded in presence and attuned to the emergent edge of clients' processes and social change.
With Mama Mycelia clients Kate offers a steady energy of deep listening and witnessing, checking in with needs, offering re-framing touchpoints, and giving opportunities for clients to lead their process. Kate holds space for clients within their relational field by offering tools and frameworks for relationships and communication. This allows individual healing to ripple out into connection with place, nature, partnerships, families, communities and work life. As part of the potential integration components post-journey, Kate facilitates the Dragon Dreaming process for clients wishing to actively become a regenerative presence in the world.
Kate is a long-term yoga practitioner, meditator of contemplative centering practices and psychonaut. She would not be the person and leader she is today without the past decade of her own entheogenic healing and psychedelic-assisted eco-awakenings. She loves bodies of water, cats, reading, good conversation, travel and exploration, and, as you can tell, people. Kate also mentors Human Design projectors into their personal thriving and the success of those they serve (Projector School).
